Medusa - 2007
A floor-mounted electrical sculpture explores the numinous elements of catharsis and change: earth, air, fire and water. Fifty thick electrical cords each terminating in a 100 watt incandescent bulb are fired by a giant timer. Half-fading, half-flaring, Medusa flows through an endless cycle of transition.
Wall-mounted photographs surround the central installation, exploring moments of transition. Each photo is 36" x 48."
Medusa showed at Out North, The Annex and Bunnell Street Arts Center in Alaska.
